Respawn Entertainment have had a busy week, announcing mere days ago that their upcoming awesomeness, Titanfall, will indeed be getting a public beta before its official release, though no word on exactly how one can expect to gain access has been given.
According to the company they’re now awaiting certification of the build before officially announcing a start date for the beta.
Now they’ve also revealed the minimum specifications you’ll require to run Titanfall on PC, and they’re not to bad:
Operating system: 64-bit Windows 7. 8 or 8.1
Processor: AMD Athlon X2 2.8GHz or Intel Core 2 Duo 2.4GHz
RAM: 4GB RAM 512MB VRAM
GPU: Radeon HD 4770 or GeForce 8800GT
The only potential pitfall I can see is the 64-bit operating system, a leap that a substantially large amount of people haven’t chosen to make yet, but otherwise the specs seem reasonable and in keeping with what I expected. Those with older machines should be able to let out a sight of relief.
Finally comes a piece of news sure to annoy some: Titanfall is going to require you to use EA’s Origin. When asked whether the anticipated mechanised shooter would need EA’s system to run on Twitter, Vince Zampella replied:
@Klink77 yes it does, we’ll miss you

The, “we’ll miss you” is because the questioner catagorically stated that if Titanfall did indeed require Origin he/she wouldn’t be purchasing it as Steam is the future. Zampella went on to encourage people to at least give Origin a shot as it costs them nothing to do so, which is a fair point as the service has gotten considerably better, though still needs work.
