11-years have passed since the last true Devil May Cry game was launched. In the span of time since 2008 we got a reboot of the franchise in the form of the oddly named DmC: Devil May Cry, a game that I actually quite liked but that did not go down well with fans. Finally, though, we have a true sequel in the form of Devil May Cry 5. Nero and Dante are back and ready to kick some demonic buttocks. It’s time to welcome back Devil May Cry and watch as it retakes its throne.
Damn, did you see that weekend whooshing by? Going a bit fast, wasn’t it? Yup, time sure is flying these days, disappearing quicker than my enthusiasm for being a normal, sociable human being.
Welcome back to the Weekend Whammy! As always and forever, I’m the idiot running this little Internet asylum and the Weekend Whammy is where I chat about…er, anything, really. But this week it’s very much gaming related stuff because loads of exciting things have happened. So lets jump into it, shall we?
This week I put out the review for Spinnortality, a cool little management game where you run a corporation. While it didn’t have the depth needed to keep me playing for longer than I needed to for the review, I still appreciated the idea of amassing money and power by selling new products and gently nudging laws in my favour. Or, y’know, just launching an espionage mission to kill the current ruler before basically taking over the entire country and using the current government as little more than a glorified puppet for my master plans. Being evil is fun.
As someone with an almost unhealthy fascination with videogame reviews whenever a title is released that creates a massive split in opinions and scores I become genuinely excited. Reading about a universally liked or disliked game is enjoyable, and indeed seeing that sort of unity across critics and […]

Alright, so my big review of the week was Devil May Cry 5 which…*shudders.* It’s just so good, man. Like, so fucking good. So good, in fact, that I gave it 5 out of 5 and may have attempted to marry it in Las Vegas. Apparently even sin city has standards, though, and I was informed that marrying video games was “sickening” and that, ” I should be locked up for the things you did to it!”
