It took me a very long time to start monetizing this site, and I still feel weird opening up an option for you guys to give me money directly. But here we are. So, what does the money get used for? Well, a bunch of stuff.
– Running costs.
These aren’t huge due to me hosting on WordPress.com, but they do exist.
– New hardware and games.
I’m lucky in the sense that I get a lot of games and tech to review straight from the companies, but there’s a lot I buy. Video games and board games can be expensive, so your money will be spent on picking up any games I didn’t get a review copy of that interest me. It may also be used to pick up new PC hardware or even a new console. Yup, with enough support I might finally begin reviewing PS4 and Switch games. Maybe even VR.
– Camera stuff.
Board game and tech reviews always have photos taken by me. But camera gear is pricey, and I’d love to pick up stuff like better lighting.
– Proofreading and editing.
I’m not that great when it comes to my editing skills and proofreading. Spend five minutes on the site and you’ll see that, but with some money coming in I could get access to professional services that would help make my gibberish less gibberishy.
– Giveaways
With some extra money coming in I could start doing some giveaways, something I’ve been wanting to do. Ultimately I’d love to run a scheme similar to that of ACG on Youtube; for every game I get for free from a company, I buy a normal copy to give away.
– Blackjack and hookers.
Sell explanatory, really.
