It’s no secret that Gears of War stands next to Halo as the Xbox’s flagship game series, it’s name is famous around the globe and it seems that Microsoft is keen to make the most of that name.
With Gears of War 3 coming this year gamers are already pretty excited and the newly announced Triple Pack, which contains Gears 1 & 2 along with all the DLC for Gears 2, will make sure that those few who haven’t played it will have no excuse not to have.
And now Epic have been discovered trademarking a new name and the logo above.
In case the title and picture didn’t give it away the name trademarked was Gears of War: Exile – possibly the same game that was supposed to be announced at the Spike TV Game Awards before being pulled out at the last minute.
At the moment no details have been released, though the title Exile possibly hints at a storyline set in the far reaches of Sera and may focus on the Stranded (civilians) or a squad of Cog that have deserted. Of course that’s all speculation.
It’s also worth noting that rumours circulating before VGA were based around a new Gears of War game featuring Kinect support.
