Square Enix are getting are firing up the hype-machine as they’ve just released a seven-second long teaser trailer for something called Deus Ex: The Fall. The trailer contains nothing more than some music and a voice-over asking if we’re ready to begin, but the date 05/06/13 is also shown, suggesting that whatever The Fall is we’ll find out more about it tomorrow.

The release of this trailer follows Square Enix’s mysterious Tweet yesterday:

Speculation has already begun, with some suggesting that The Fall could be DLC for Deus Ex: Human Revolution, although this seems highly unlikely as Revolution was released 2-years ago. Another suggestion is that it’s something to do with the recently announced movie, but again this doesn’t quite fit as Eidos-Montréal are purely a game company, though it is possible that the The Fall is a new game which ties in with the movie.

Ultimately, though, Deus Ex: The Fall is probably a new game altogether. Even the name suggests this, with the fall coming after the revolution.  Human Revolution was a superb game marred by a few flaws, so you can definitely color me excited for a new Deus Ex game.

Whatever it is, we’ll find out tomorrow.
