Having previously announced that Grand Theft Auto V managed to accumulate $800-million dollars during its first day of sale, Take Two have today revealed GTA V has hit a total of $1-billion worth of sales in just three days.
A statement from Take Two reads: “We believe this marks the fastest that any entertainment property, including video games and feature films, has reach this significant milestone.”
Though I do not have the numbers on hand to support Rockstar’s claim this would certainly seem to be the case.
Gaming has indeed come a long way. To put this into some perspective it took the biggest movie of last year, the Avengers, 19-days to hit $1-billion in sales. It took the film nearly four-months to reach the $1.5-billion mark, although it’s important to remember that cinema ticket prices are considerably lower than cost of a single copy of GTA V, but it’s still interesting nonetheless.
So, just how much dosh can Rockstar’s epic game rake in?
And yes, a review of GTA V will be coming, but the game is vast and I’d rather take my time than rush something out for the sake of a little extra traffic.
