I really wasn’t expecting Insomniac to appear at the Summer Games Fest to talk about Spider-Man 2 after they just showed off an extensive and fascinating gameplay trailer at the recent Playstation Showcase. That’s exactly what they did, though.

In a small segment a few tidbits about the game were dropped, including hints that there are more villains than just Kraven and Venom, that we might see other heroes make an appearance and that this version of Venom isn’t linked to Eddie Brock.

But the biggest reveal was that Spider-Man 2 will launch on PS5 on October 20th, 2023. I’m genuinely shocked that they didn’t announce the date at the Playstation Showcase.

God, I’m so hyped for this one.
