Just a few hours ago I wrote that a Twitter user claimed there would be a Nintendo Direct very soon, and lo, Nintendo has announced a Direct for tomorrow, Jule 21st.
The same Twitter user, who has now successfully predicted several things, has said that a new 2D Mario game will be revealed at the event along with a remake of an SNES classic.
Neither of these things has been confirmed by Nintendo, but the company did specify that the Direct will be 40 minutes “focused mainly on Nintendo Switch titles launching this year, including new details on Pikmin 4”.
That sounds pretty good because with Zelda out the way, the Switch’s release schedule is looking a little bare for the rest of the year.
It seems likely that 1-2 Switch will get some time since it was recently announced. I’m also expecting to see the new Mario Kart 8 DLC get showcased. That leaves plenty of room for other titles, though, like the alleged 2D Mario game or maybe even Metroid Prime 4 which hasn’t been seen or heard from in any official capacity in ages.
What do you guys think?
