UPDATE: Rockstar North has confirmed that they are back up and running already!

Original Story: Rockstar North, part of the massive company developing GTA 6, has been cordoned off following an explosion in the early hours of January 19.

“We were alerted at 5.02am on Monday, 19 January to attend an incident on Holyrood Road, Edinburgh,” a spokesperson for  Scottish Fire and Rescue Service told The Herald.

Fire crews had left by around 9am.

No official word has been given about the cause yet, but initial reports indicate that the explosion occurred in the boiler room of the building.

Luckily, since it was 5 am, there were no reported casualties or injuries at the company. However, it’s unclear what sort of damage has been done to the building itself, so the studio could be shut down for some time while repairs are underway.

Unsurprisingly, once it was clear people were not hurt, folks started joking online that this better not cause another delay for GTA 6. Personally, I reckon it was GTA 5‘s Trevor. He’s crazy enough and might not want to be upstaged by a new game.

All the best to everyone at Rockstar North.
