Marvel’s Wolverine will launch on September 15, 2026, Insomniac and Sony has announced with zero ado.
Usually the announcement of a release date for one of Sony’s big first-party titles would warrant some fanfare, and yet for someone reason, Marvel’s Wolverine has recieved none. Instead, Insomniac just dropped the announcement on X with zero buildup.
It’s even wierder when you consider that Sony just held a State of Play a few weeks ago where an announcement like this would have been a spectacular way to wrap-up an already very strong show.
I realise I’m probably just being cynical dick here, but it almost feels like Sony’s way of trying to calm down everyone afte the recent closure of Bluepoint Games, which the online community is still…er, rather unhappy with.
But, the less cynical view would be that this is a perfectly good way to make the announcement. We don’t need to hype things like this up. It doesn’t change the fact that Sony would usually hype the announcement up, but it’s kind of nice to have the date just drop randomly like this.
Roll on September, bubs.
