Having been announced just a month ago, the Marvel Maximum Collection, which collects together a bunch of classic titles, has been announced to launch this month.

March 27 is the date to mark on your calander. The collection will launch digitially on Xbox, PlayStation, PC and Switch.

The collection brings together the following titles:

  • Captain America and the Avengers (Arcade, Genesis, NES)
  • Silver Surfer (NES)
  • Spider-Man and the X-Men in Arcade’s Revenge (SNES, Genesis, Game Gear, Game Boy)
  • Spider-Man and Venom: Maximum Carnage (SNES, Genesis)
  • Venom/Spider-Man: Separation Anxiety (SNES, Genesis)
  • X-Men: The Arcade Game (Arcade)

Mostly these seem to be the old games in their original form, but there have been a few notable improvements. X-Men: The Arcade Game boasts 6-player online with rollback netcode, for example. You’ll also be rewind time across all the games, and save whereever you like. And there’s a couple of smaller things like a musuem and CRT filter.

Finally, publisher Limited Run Games will also be creating a physical edition for those of us who like to put things on shelves. Pre-orders for that go live on launch date, March 27 and will run until May 24. It will contain a sticker sheet, booklet and foil cover, all for $40.
