At this point it feels a new chunk of DLC for The Witcher 3 is all but confirmed, as various insiders, leaks and even analysts have all pointed toward it launching this year. It’s predicted to act like a bridge between The Witcher 3 and the upcoming The Witcher 4. And now, there’s a wee snippet from CD projekt RED themselves which could point toward the DLC being real and coming out this year.
Take this with a pinch of salt, though, because it is very vague. You might have to squint a bit. The snippet in question comes from within a batch of CD Projekt Red’s latest financial reports.

“In the coming quarters, the Studio will focus primarily on further development work on ongoing projects; we also plan to publish one of the heretofore unannounced gaming projects,” reads the document.
Notably, it’s stated that they intend on only publishing the project, which would be in keeping with the rumour that Fool’s Theory is handling development duties.
It also points towards a release this year, which would again match what we’ve been hearing.
UPDATE: when scouring the documents, I missed this notable piece as well. One investor asked how they intended on handling marketing for the new game content they’ve announced.
“I’d like to say everything is a possibility. But having said that, our experience and our preference given the types of games we make is for longer-term marketing campaigns; we think they tend to work a little bit better than, say, a live drop at some conference or event. So I’d point in that direction,” said Nowakowski.
Back to original story: The management team was even asked directly about Fool’s Theory in the Q&A video, but kept tight-lipped about what the team is working on, only saying: “In terms of the project from Fool’s Theory, as was said, we will come back with more news later this year. For now we have nothing to share; we are not sharing anything yet.”
In the same Q&A, another person asked whether CD Projekt RED is happy with Fool’s Theory work on the unnannounced project thus far, and was told “… yes, we’re quite satisfied specifically with Fool’s Theory and where the project we’re working on with them is heading.”
Fool’s Theory is made up of many former CD Projekt RED developers, and is working with the company of The Witcher 4 as a support studio. CD Projekt RED has been clear in the past that Fool’s Theory is also working on some sort of unannounced project.
So, is this the long-rumoured DLC?
