While it may have had a slightly rocky start, Crimson Desert is a sales behemoth for developer and publisher Pear Abyss.
According to the company, Crimson Desert has now surpased 4 million copies sold and is still going strong.
The game’s rough start was largely just because the level of hype was so insane that even good critic scores of 7 and 8 were deemed dissapointing, leading to a drop in the company’s stock price. Player reception was good, although the Steam user rating started low due to some issues.
Now, though, the game is rocking a “Very Positive” rating on Steam and is bringing in just under 200k concurrent players every day. Exact console performance is not know but people seem happy over there, too.
Pear Abyss’ stock price has also not only recovered, but has actually risen to the highest price since 2022.
There’s been an impressive level of updates pushed out for the game, too, which have helped sort out some of the initial issues people were having.
All in all, it looks like one hell of a success story.
