After a lengthy absence which has only made the heart grow fonder, Uncharted might be making its grand comeback. A new report claims that Naughty Dog not only has two The Last of Us projects underway along with Intergalactic, but that the company is also working on a brand new Uncharted project as well.
MP1St claims that sources have told them that there is indeed a new Uncharted game in development at Naughty Dog, seemingly headed by Shaun Escayg who co-directed Uncharted: The Lost Legacy. He returned to Naughty Dog in 2021.
IAccording to MP1ST, the new Uncharted title will become the studios next focus after Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet. The wording makes the timeline hard to judge: it could have been in production for a while under a small team and will get the full power of Naughty Dog behind it once Intergalactic launches, or it hasn’t even entered production proper and won’t until Intergalactic is out the door.
In May 2025, Neil Druckmann said there was “another game” being made at Naughty Dog while he worked in a producer/mentor role with “this other team.” He did not name the project, its director, or its franchise. Rumours began flying that it
They also claim the new game will include Nathan Drake in some capacity. Given that Uncharted 4 ended with Drake as an older man with a daughter, MP1ST makes the obvious guess: Cassie Drake might be taking over.
Finally, MP1ST says this is a brand new Uncharted game and not a remake or remaster.
Meanwhile, insider NateTheHate is backing up what MPS1ST has said. On September 29, NateTheHate was asked by person on X if he had heard anything about the rumoured Naughty Dog project being led by Shaun Escayg, who had returned to the team in 2021. NateTheHate said: “Minor details but nothing I’m prepared to share at present.” Another user directly asked if it was related to The Last of Us and Nate simply replied, “No.”
Except now NateTheHate is playing the annoying insider card by offering more information following MP1ST’s report. Over on a ResetEra post about MP1ST’s report, someone asked Nate if this is what he was hinting at in his September 29 reply, to which he says: ““Yes, a new Uncharted is what I was referring to. I don’t know anything about the future TLOU projects at this time.”

As for his reference to The Last of Us, that’s because the MP1ST report also claims The Last of Us 3 is slated to become Naughty Dog’s focus after the new Uncharted game.
Getting back to Uncharted and Cassie drake, Sony may even have dangled the possibility years ago. Its 2023 Live from PS5 advert featured recognisable references to several PlayStation games, but also two unexplained shots of a young woman discovering an ancient relic in a torch-lit cave. Fans quickly wondered whether she was Cassie Drake, Nathan and Elena’s daughter, whose curiosity about her parents’ past closes out Uncharted 4. Sony never confirmed the character’s identity, and all the other games shown in the trailer came to pass, except that one.
