Months ago, Tom Warren of The Verge posted that he had heard Forza Horizon 6 would not launch on PS5 in 2026, and then just the other day, Billbil-kun of DealLabs stated that had heard it would release on January 26, 2026. Turns out, Warren and Billbil-kun were correct.

Playground Games has officially announced that despite all the promises it would launch in 2026, Forza Horizon 6 will land on PS5 on January 26, 2027. Or slightly earlier, if you want to pay more.

“There are three editions of the game available to choose from: Forza Horizon 6 Standard and Deluxe Editions will be released on 26th January 2027, with Early Access for Premium Edition owners starting five days earlier on 21st January. Forza Horizon 6 will also be available on disc for PS5® at supporting retailers,” said Playground Games.

Neither Playground or Xbox has provided any explanation as to why the released was pushed into 2027, despite saying just one month ago that it would come out by the end of the year.

The game will drop alongside its first “premium” expansion, which could explain the delay if Xbox and Playground wanted the PS5 version to get the best possible start. They did the same thing with Forza Horizon 5.

“In addition to today’s exciting news for PS5® players, we’re also delighted to confirm that the first Premium Expansion for Forza Horizon 6 is coming to all platforms on 21st January 2027. This Expansion will be included with the Forza Horizon 6 Premium Edition, Premium Upgrade and Expansions Bundle at no additional cost, and will also be available to purchase separately.”
