Having been rumoured for a while, it turns out that Days Gone: Remastered is indeed real and it’s coming out on April 25.
Much like Horizon Zero Dawn, the upgraded version of Bend Studio’s open-world zombie game will be available for $10 for anyone who already owns the game.
Of course, the upgrade brings with it improved graphics, but there’s also some new content in the form a permadeath mode, new accessibility features, an enhanced photo mode, speedrun mode and a brand new Horde Assault which seems to be all about earning points by battling against hordes of freakers.
Obviously, Days Gone is a rather new game to be getting remastered. It originally launched on PS4 in 2019, and has since got a PS5 patch which updates the game to run at 60FPS. But it seems Sony sees some value in remastering even its newer games, and I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t very tempted for the low price of $10. After all, I did really like Days Gone.
If this remaster does well, it might bring back hope of a sequel. God knows Bend Studio could do with a win since they supposedly had the live-service game they were developing canned not too long ago.
