Valve has been rather busy this week, announcing not only a brand new Steam Machine that acts as a console/PC hybrid, but also a nifty controller and the Steam Frame, a standalone VR headset. But they might not be done just yet.

Mike Straw, senior editor of Insider Gaming, said this on X: “BTW, Valve isn’t done with the big announcements. Soon enough there’s going to be something else”

And he’s not the only one. There’s a number of other insiders who correctly predicted Valve’s hardware announcements, but also hinted toward their being a 4th announcement as well that has yet to appear.

Unsurprisingly, fans have come to one conclusion: a new Half-Life game. After all, what would help sell hardware, if not a Half-Life game? Perhaps another VR game to help shift the Steam Frame? Or maybe Half-Life 3 launching alongside the Steam Machine?

Of course HL3 has been rumoured for what seems like forever at this point. Earlier this year, it was claimed the game is actually playable from start-to-finish. Various other reports and leaks have occured, too, suggesting that the game is real and will be released.

This month has some relevance for the Half-Life series as well: November 19 is Half-Life‘s birthday; November 16 is Half-Life 2‘s birthday; and Nov 21 is six years after Half-Life Alyx‘s trailer debuted.

So, are we finally getting it? Has Valve learned how to count to 3 at long last?
