Don’t you just love it when you don’t have to wait for something? Well, that’s the case with Lego Batman: The Legacy of the Dark Knight, which has a brand new release date, moving the game up by one week ahead of its originally planned release.

A new trailer put out by Warner Bros has confirmed the game’s new release date will be May 22nd, a full week ahead of its originally planned May 29 launch date. The company has also confirmed that those who buy the deluxe edition of the game will now receive early access starting May 19.

Sadly, this new release date does not apply to the Switch 2 version of the game. The press release simply states: “Please note, the Nintendo Switch™2 version of the game will launch later in 2026.” It remains unclear why a release date for the game on Nintendo’s machine still hasn’t been confirmed.

There was also no mention of why the release date was pushed up. It looks like the team must just be happy with the state of the game and are confident in getting it out the door.

And the game does look pretty awesome. It’s a mixture of the classic LEGO titles and the Batman: Arkham titles, while also paying homage to every major incarnation of the Bat across comics, movies and games.
