Checking Out Engage Gaming In Aberdeen, A Social Space For Gamers, And Interviewing The People Behind It

Located a block away from Aberdeen’s main street and roughly a ten-minute walk from the train station Engage isn’t quite something you’d stumble across by accident as its slightly tucked away on a back street. That’s a shame because while its boring grey facade might not grab your attention venturing upstairs reveals an open-plan room dedicated to gaming. Here you can walk in, sit down and start playing videogames with a bunch of other folk. It’s almost like gamers are actually social or something. Sheesh.

Adventures At 4TG Game Con 2017, Aberdeen

The seething mass of bodies all packed into one place is a stark reminder of just how big games have become since I was but a lad in the ’90s where it was still seen, along with comics, as a geeky hobby. Now it seems everyone plays games, either casually on a phone or tablet for a few minutes a day or on a custom PC that costs a terrifying amount of money. Games are just part of everyday life now, and conventions are springing up all over the place. Now there are people from all walks of life celebrating a medium that has gone from strength to strength. Walking the concrete floors are kids, teenagers, moms, dads, businessmen, grandfathers, grandmothers and more. There are no barriers now that games have gotten almost complete mainstream acceptance, and it’s amazing to see.

Sniper Ghost Warrior 3 Preview

Previewing a beta build for a game is always a tricky prospect because naturally it’s going to have bugs and problems, and it can be tough to tell how many of those are going to get fixed before launch. In this case, though, Sniper Ghost Warrior 3 is going to be arriving on April, a mere two months in which to fix a game that is quite frankly a mess in its current stage. More importantly not amount of bug fixing is going to turn it into a great game.
