Rockstar Games have finally announced a release date for their detective based action game, and that date is May 17th for North America and May 20th for Europe.
“L.A. Noire breaks new ground for us,” said Sam Houser, founder of Rockstar Games. “Its intense blend of action and real detective work defies genre conventions to create a unique and captivating thriller.”
A unique game, L.A. Noire allows you to solve crimes by using the most advanced facial recognition softward seen in a game to actually read the emotions of suspects faces just as you would do in real life. Whether it’s a slight twitch or someone acting just a little odd you’ll be able to tell if they’re lying or speaking the truth, well, if you’re good enough anyway.
Players will take on the role of Cole Phelps, a decorated war veteran, who rises through the ranks of the LAPD by solving a series of gruesome murders and other crimes that bring him face-to-face with the dark heart of Los Angeles during Hollywood’s Golden Age.
With a release date finally anounced we can hopefully start getting more information on Noire as details have been thin on the ground.
With Rockstars story telling skills and great pedigree you can bet this should be something special, and a nice break from the usual games.
