Warner Bros have announced a brand new Batman game set in Gotham city titled Gotham City Imposters.
Imposters will take the shape of a download only first person shooter where Gotham City has been overrun by imposters pretending to be either Jokerz or Batz. You’ll get to create and customise your very own wannabe villain or hero using insane costumes and embark on a quest to kill the enemy using a variety of weaponry and gadgets, some traditional and some entirely imagined.
“Gotham City Impostors blows apart expectations for superhero games with an exaggerated take on first person shooters, set in a part of the DC Universe players have never seen before,” said Samantha Ryan, Senior Vice President, Production and Development, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment. “Monolith is creating a game that turns Gotham City upside down and we think fans are going to have a blast with this creative twist on multiplayer heroism and anti-heroism as they play up the classic rivalry between Batman and The Joker.”
Warner Bros has certainly created an interesting use of the DC and Batman license, and it’s hard to imagine that they won’t tie the game’s story in further with the upcoming Batman: Arkham City.
