Earlier today the internet exploded, as did my mind, when a community manager for Blizzard seemingly confirmed that a console version of Diablo III would indeed be gracing us with its existence. This, of course, led to a hell of a lot of very happy gamers, myself included.
The apparent confirmation of Diablo III ‘The Console Version’ arrived via that bloody Twitter thing again when a Diablo fan asked one Blizzard’s community managers whether he could confirm the existence of a console version of the game, to which he recieved this answer:
“Yup. Josh Mosqueira is lead designer for the Diablo console project.”
As you would expect fans immediately took this for a confirmation on the console version, which is perfectly understandable given the wording. However, the very same community manager has now Tweeted the following to clear everything up:
“‘Yup” wasn’t meant to be an announcement. We’re still exploring a console version, but more importantly working on the PC/Mac version.”
So lets sum this up: dreams come true, dreams are shattered into a thousand tiny pieces. Everybody now: SON OF A……….
