Gotham City Imposters Getting Free DLC

Holy free DLC, Batman! I’m sorry, I really am. I just couldn’t resist it.

After having just launched a fairly major update for Gotham City Impostors that nerfed some weapons, fixed quick-scoping and much more Monolith, the games developers, have announced that they’ll be releasing some free DLC for their mental little Arcade FPS in March. This DLC doesn’t just include some shiny new toys to play with, but also includes an update to the game to allow players to be able to join games already in progress. Here’s the full details on what to expect:

“A BRAND NEW MAP: The 25th Floor of the Gotham Times building is about to be your playground for destruction! (Just make sure not to fall of the edge.)
JOIN-IN-PROGRESS: Players can now join a match, even after it has started!
MATCHMAKING FIXES: There have been numerous additional fixes to resolve nasty potential connection errors! Stability is something we strive for, and is always being improved.
NEW WEAPONS: The Falcon Blade (a bullet-blocking katana worthy of warfare in Gotham) and the Kingmaker (a quick-draw pistol that can humble even the mightiest of Mighties) are available for you to unlock!
A NEW SUPPORT ITEM: Toxic Gas! Leave a cloud of nigh-invisible noxious vapors in your wake, that will impair and damage those foolish enough to follow you.
A MULTITUDE OF NEW COSTUME CHOICES: In addition to the myriad of costume items already available, we’re letting you dress up like a luchador, a corporate schlub gone mad, and so much more!
NEW FUN FACT: The new Nimble Fingers Fun Fact will let you capture Gasblasters faster, and attach/detach batters quicker. The team’s clutch player? Yeah, that’s you.”

As stated the DLC will be arriving sometime in March for the low price of absolute nothing.

On a side note, for all of those having a rant about the metric ton of DLC for the game on Marketplace, all of that gear can be unlocked in-game. The Marketplace stuff is for those that can’t be bothered to unlock it all in the traditional way.

  1. I was shocked when I saw all of the DLC on the Marketplace for Gotham City Impostors, but I had a good guess something was up. I later looked it up and apparently the items could be unlocked in-game. No publisher would -ever- willing hold that many items hostage to money, right?

Also, there have been reports of bugs forcing people to lose their game data and DLC, so they’re losing money. When it comes to games, WB does deliver. However, with online passes and DLC, they’re epic trolls.

Leave a Reply! Seriously, I'm lonely. Talk to me. Hello? Anyone?
