A face-meltingly awesome new trailer has arrived for what could just be the greatest game of 2012: Borderlands 2.In true sequel fashion, Gearbox are packing in more explosions, more mayhem, more skills, more characters, more awesome and MORE GUNS! Because, y’know, you can never have too many guns. Ever.

But the big news to be taken from the trailer is that Borderlands 2 now has a release date, but sadly you won’t be seeing anytime soon: it’ll be releasing in the US on September 18th and internationally (that’s everywhere to anyone that doesn’t have a dictionary) on September 21st. So, that’s a bit of time to wait, then. Ah well, at least that’ll give you time to replay Borderlands a few more times.

Also, take note that pre-orders will get access to something called the Borderlands 2 Premiere Clu, which will give them access to some extra gear from the start. The press release had this to say on the subject: “Gamers who pre-order Borderlands 2 from participating retailers will gain access to the Borderlands 2 Premiere Club, allowing them to download the Gearbox Gun Pack, a Golden Key and the Vault Hunter’s Relic. The Gearbox Gun Pack is a collection of unique guns to help players begin their journey on Pandora. The Golden Key is an in-game item used to unlock a rare item in the mysterious Golden Sanctuary Loot Chest found in Borderlands 2. The Vault Hunter’s Relic is an in-game item that boosts players’ gear-hunting fortune while playing solo or teaming up with friends.”
