Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning DLC To Add Whole New Continent In March

UPDATE: Just one day after sending out the press release announcing Dead Kel with no pricing details, EA have announced pricing details. The Legend of Dead Kel will be available for 800MSP.

If you’re anything like me then there’s a very high probability that you’ve still not finished the rather fantastic Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning from Big Huge Games and 38 Studios. All those side-quests to complete and unique weapons to find add up to a pretty substantial game, but now it’s going to get a whole lot bigger as EA have announced that Reckoning’s first DLC will be available to download on March 20th, and it’s going to add a whole new continent.

To be a little more precise the new DLC is called the Legend of Dead Kel and, according to EA, it will add a new landmass equivalent to 15% of what Reckoning already had. Bit wait, there’s a bit more yet. Here’s what else you can look forward to according to the press release:

  • An Epic New QuestlineThe Legend of Dead Kel is only part of the story of Gallows End. It intertwines with numerous side quests, multiple dungeons to explore and a colorful cast of characters
  • New Enemies, Dungeons, Items – Multiple new enemies and enemy variants, a new dungeon type: Dverga Fastings, three new Twists of Fate, eight new armor sets, eight new shields and 18 new unique weapons
  • The Ultimate Player Housing – Gravehal Keep is more than just player housing, it’s a massive estate with multiple buildings and a full retinue of retainers, each with their own back stories, side quests, perks and quirks
  • Tons more to Explore The Legend of Dead Kel DLC adds in more than 15% of additional land to traverse and explore in the already massively expansive world that is Amalur

More loot? More dungeons? more LOOT? A new house? MORE LOOT? Count me in.

Bit wait, there’s two bits of the bad news: the first is that there has been no mention of increasing the level cap, which will undoubtedly leave many gamers, including myself, a little frustrated. The second piece of bad news is that no pricing details have yet been mentioned. Considering that EA are involved you can be damn sure that it won’t be free. If I was to hazard a guess I’d say start saving up for 1200MSP.

And, of course, don’t forget to check out the review.
