Ubisoft have released the first ever trailer for their upcoming title Assassin’s Creed III. Set in the 18th century during the American Revolution, Assassin’s Creed III has been in development for three years now which gives it the longest developement cycle of any Creed game since the original and boasts a twice the amount of funding that Revelations had. The game will run on a brand new version of the Anvil engine to help bring the American Revolution to life.
As well as a new protagonist named Connor, who is born of Mohawk and British blood, the game will feature revamped stealth and combat. Essentially Ubisoft are looking to recreate the same leap that Assassin’s Creed II was over its predeccesor.
“Assassin’s Creed III features the franchise’s most expansive setting so far, along with an exciting new hero and exponentially more gameplay,” said Yves Guillemot, chief executive officer at Ubisoft. “Whether you’re a longtime fan of Assassin’s Creed or if you’re new to the franchise, you’re going to be blown away by the scale and marvel of Assassin’s Creed III.”
