At this point the existence of Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 could justifiably be called the worst kept secret in history. Just a few weeks ago retailers accidentally revealed  the fact that the game would be unveiled at the beginning of May. The games official box art was also revealed along with some leaked screenshots for the game. Before that the game had been spotted on French and Spanish retail sites, as well as on the CV of an employee at a contract art studio. In other words, EPIC FAIL!

But now a more official confirmation has turned up courtesy of Activision who put up an official splash page for Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 on the Call of Duty website. Since then the splash page has vanished, presumably because the game wasn’t actually supposed to be revealed until tonight, but not before plenty of people could get a good look at the release date and small description. According to the page Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 will be releasing on November 13th, 2012, for Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and PC, and will be set in the “21st Century Cold War where technology and weapons have converged to create a new generation of warfare”.

Activision are supposed to be making a Call of Duty reveal tonight at the NBA playoffs which, given the hastily removed splash page and other evidence, can only be Black Ops 2.

So, another Call of Duty title. On a personal level the first Black Ops stands as my second favorite Call of Duty, so I can’t help but feel a little excited, but it’s still another Call of Duty game. How do you feel about it?
