Rockstar Unveil DLC Release Schedule For Max Payne 3

Whether you like it or not, one thing is certain: DLC is an integral and almost unavoidable part of our beloved hobby. Whether it’s day-1 DLC packs, controversial horse-armour or multiplayer map packages that get released at stupid prices just days after a games release, it’s always there. So it comes as very little surprise that Rockstar have announced their grand multiplayer DLC plan for the upcoming, and rather awesome looking, Max Payne 3.

Starting today, gamers in the United States can pre-order the Rockstar Pass which will not only allow access to each piece of DLC as it becomes available for download via the in-game store, but will also provide a discount of 35% over buying each piece of DLC separately. The pass can be purchase for 2400MSP, or £19.99 on Playstation 3 and PC. That’s a pretty chunky price-tag, but then there’s also going to be a pretty chunky amount of DLC.

Starting in June, the first piece of DLC to hit the marketplace will be titled the Local Justice Map Pack and will feature the Police Precinct map for Gang Wars, Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch and Payne Killer multiplayer modes.  The pack will also include two more maps for Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch and Payne Killer, along with precinct themed Avatar items, multiplayer challenges and other assorted stuff.

Presumably we can expect the same sort of content in the other six DLC packs that have been announced in Rockstar’s release schedule:

June 2012
• Local Justice Map Pack

Summer 2012
• Disorganized Crime Map Pack
• Deathmatch Made In Heaven Mode Pack
• Hostage Negotiation Map Pack
• New York Minute Co-Op Pack

Fall 2012
• Painful Memories Map Pack
• Trickle Down Economics Map Pack

Stay tuned for more details as Rockstar announce ’em.
