It looks like 343 Industries and Microsoft might not be content with just making Halo 5 and Halo 6 as they’ve just posted a job listing looking for a creative director to lead developement of,  “a groundbreaking new AAA entertainment experience set in the Halo universe.”

The wording in their advertisement certainly seems to indicate that this game won’t just be a continuation of 343 Industries Halo 4, instead it will be something brand new. Fans around the internet have suggested a potential sequel to Halo Wars or ODST, but once again the use of the wording seems to rule that out.  Listed under the requirements for this job is, “A comprehensive understanding of games (especially the action/shooter genre),” obviously suggesting that this new game will fall under the action/shooter genre.

So, what could this be? The Halo universe is vast so it’s not like 343 Industries and Microsoft don’t have a lot of room to play around in. Guess we’ll just have to wait and see. Until then, though, we might as well get some good ‘ol speculating done. I speculate Halo: Warthog Mania, a top-down arcade-style racer with powerups that include the “Cortana Distraction” which distracts other players by projecting a holographic image of Cortana doing a sexy dance in front of their vehicles.
