EA and Bioware aren’t quite finished with Commander Shepard and co just yet as they’ve today announced two brand new pieces of DLC for the game, one that expands on the already extensive multiplayer suite and one that adds a  brand new chunk of singleplayer content.

The first pack, titled Reckoning, is a multiplayer add-on that’s  due to arrive on February 26th and will be free to anybody with an active online pass. According to the press release it’ll add in brand new weapons and character kits to be used in the fight against the Reapers. On a personal note I’ve just recently gotten back into Mass Effect 3’s multiplayer and was impressed by how much Bioware have expanded upon it, adding in masses of new characeters, maps, abilities and weapons for the low cost of absolutely nothing. Hats off to Bioware for that.

The second DLC is due on March 5th and is a singleplayer add-on titled Citadel which weighs in with a price tag of £11.99 or 1200MSP. According to the press release it is going to be the last singleplayer DLC for Mass Effect 3. Note that they said the last singleplayer DLC, so there is still the possibility of even more multiplayer content down the line. Currently details about this add-on are thin on the ground, but apparently it’ll let you explore the Citadel and reconnect with old friends from across all three Mass Effect games, as shown by the screenshot above.

“The team has poured heart and soul into Mass Effect 3: Reckoning and Mass Effect 3: Citadel. As the launch of these chapters near, the feeling around the studio is bittersweet,” said Casey Hudson, Executive Producer of the Mass Effect series. “We have always been humbled and driven by the passion of our fans for the Mass Effect trilogy. We hope fans will enjoy spending more time with some of their favorite characters — we have certainly enjoyed spending time creating them. We’re excited to release this final sendoff for the trilogy and move forward into the future of the Mass Effect universe.”

Alright, I admit that I’m a sentimental bugger and so any excuse to hang out with all of my old crew is a good excuse.

Look out for the Reckoning multiplayer pack on February 26th, and the Citadel add-on on March 5th, which will cost £11.99 or 1200MSP.
