A mere few days ago Warner Bros revealed the UK Collector’s Edition of Batman: Arkham Origin’s, featuring a great statue of Batman and the Joker and retailing for £80.
Today Warner Bros have pulled back the curtain on the on the North American Collector’s Edition, which far outstrips what we’re being offered over here in terms of content. The package contains a substantial and beatifully detailed statue of the Joker which measures in at 9 inches tall, 13 inches wide and 11.5 inches deep.
That’s not all, though, because the package will also contain an 80-page art-book, 2 pieces of evidence from the Gotham Crime Lab, a Wanted poster of Batman, Batwing blueprints, a glow in the dark map of Gotham city, Anarky logo stencil. a photo of the Wayne family and dossiers on all eight of the assassin’s attempting to claim Batman’s life. In terms of digital content there’s a Deathstroke Challenge Pack and First Appearence Batman skin.
And if that wasn’t enough there’s also a copy of the new Necessary Evil documentary which examines the most infamous DC villains.
If you cast your mind back to the release of Batman: Arkham Asylum there were many fans upset that the North American version of the collector’s edition had its booklet bound in real leather and featured all-round better packaging. If they were that annoyed by those such things, imagine how annoyed they’re going to be at the quality difference between the UK and North American edition’s of this game.
Now, obviously with all of this content the North American version of the game is retailing at a pretty hefty $120, but it’s hard to see any reason why the UK can’t get the same edition on offer alongside the current, cheaper one. And for that matter why can’t North America have the option of purchasing the other, cheaper Collector’s Edition?
