Though the upcoming console hardware is rather exciting there’s going to be plenty of people holding on to their Xbox 360’s, either waiting for a price drop or so that they can simply continue to play the games in their collection. If you’re one of those people then you might be pleased to know that Microsoft are planning on supporting the Xbox 360 for another three years, bringing its total lifespan to a whopping eleven years.
Speaking at the Citi Global Technology Conference yesterday, CVP of marketing & strategy for Microsoft’s IEB Yusuf Mehdi confirmed the companies plan to keep the console going, adding that there’s currently over 100 games in development for the ageing machine.
We already know that some major titles like Watch Dogs, Titanfall and Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag are all coming to the Xbox 360, so it certainly seems that those who choose the route of prudence can still enjoy some brilliant gaming.

The title I think it should say Supported instead of Supporter.
Well spotted! One of those days 🙂
I understand completely! Anything to help a fellow gamer.
