Ubisoft have today announced that the next game in the Assassin’s Creed franchise, Black Flag, is going to be arriving a little earlier than originally planned, now hitting store shelves globally on October 29th.
To celebrate Ubisoft have also released a brand new journey giving us a brief glimpse of Edward Kenway’s journey from simple pirate to more awesome assassin pirate!
Alright, so this is yet another time when I wish I did more previews on this site. As long-time readers will know I’m something of an Assassin’s Creed fan, but like many others the last game left me feeling a little disappointed. However, words cannot quite express how excited I am for Black Flag which looks set to introduce a brilliant lead character in Edward: a flawed man finding a new purpose in life. Promises have also been made to bring back the more open gameplay of the first two Assassin’s Creed games. Throw in the most beautiful, interesting and vibrant setting yet, along with massive battles on the ocean, and you’ve got something that’s shaping up to the best game in the franchise by far.
At least, that’s the hope. Should all else fail they could simply whack the Pirates of the Caribbean name on the box and give us all the pirate game we’ve been waiting for, aye?
