Having had their hand somewhat forced by Internet leaks, Ubisoft have today officially revealed Assassin’s Creed: Unity, which has apparently been in development for three years now.
“We have been working on the new Assassin’s Creed for more than three years and although we weren’t quite ready to show you our full vision for a next-gen only AC, it seems Abstergo are trying to force our hand! So here’s a true first look at in-game footage from Assassin’s Creed Unity.”
As one can clearly see the game is set during the French Revolution, and the trailer, to me, at least, evokes the very first Assassin’s Creed trailer due to the bells and the square. Could this be a subtle indication that Unity will take it’s cues more from the first few Assassin’s Creed games? Or am I just reading far too much into this.
Regardless Ubisoft promise more details in the coming months. Should rumours be true then there’s also a second game in the works, with one being released only on previous generation consoles and the other on current-gen.
