The tech-heads over at Logitech have been busy constructing a brand new gaming mouse named the G502 Proteus Core Tunable Gaming Mouse, which features the world’s first 12,000DPI sensor.
“With the world’s best sensor technology, complete surface, weight and balance tuning and mechanical switches, we have made a mouse that dominates,” said Ehtisham Rabbani, general manager of the Logitech gaming business. “The Logitech G team believes that when hype fades, Science Wins!”
With a suggested retail price of £69.99 the Proteus is promising quite a lot, starting with its sensor which not only promises a DPI range of 200 to 12,000, but also zero sensor acceleration, zero smoothing or filtering, and zero pixel rounding.
On top of that there’s a set of five 3.6g weights which can be individually removed in order to customise the overall weight of the mouse.
Rather than a monolithic key-plate lying beneath the primary mouse buttons Logitech have opted for individual left and right keys, which they claim will result in ” more precise, durable, and satisfying clicks.” The mouse also has micro-mechanical switches hiding behind every button.
Above all else the Proteus looks rather lovely.
The Logitech G502 Proteus Core Tunable Gaming Mouse will arrive in Europe sometime in April.
