Team17 have that the latest entry in their Worms series, Worms: Battlegrounds, will be released later this month for PS4 and Xbox One. The game will be available both digitally and physically on May 30th, although US Playstation fans will have to wait until the 3rd of June.

As you can see from the debut trailer above, not much has changed, which is either great news or groan-inducing, depending on how you feel about the long-running franchise at this point. About the biggest changes the the inclusion of physics based contraptions and day/night transitions.

In terms of pure content the game will feature 25 singleplayer missions, 10 Worm-Ops and multiplayer across a total of 5 environments. There’s a grand total of 65 weapons to play with, 10 of which are new, and of course you’ll have access to the level editor.

Personally while I am a Worms fan the trailer wasn’t showing a whole lot that I can’t get simply by playing last years Worms: Revolution. Hopefully the full game will impress.
