Batman in spaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaace!
Sorry. Terrible muppets related jokes aside Warner Bros. and Traveller’s Tales have announced a third entry in the Lego Batman series, this time titled Beyond Gotham as it takes place in space. However, while Batman’s name is clearly visible within the title a cursory glance at the trailer reveals that this is actually Lego Justice League, or possibly Lego And The Entire Freaking DC Roster.
“Building on the incredibly successful LEGO Batman franchise, we are working to make LEGO Batman 3: Beyond Gotham the ultimate super hero videogame this year for all ages,” said Tom Stone, Managing Director, TT Games. “The TT Games team is bringing LEGO Batman and an astounding amount of characters from the DC Comics universe to the next frontier with a new epic story, more gadgets and unexpected challenges.”
The premise is that Brainiac has used the power of the Lantern Rings to shrink the Earth and add it to his private collection, and naturally its up to Batman and his chums to save the day. In total there’s 150-characters to unlock and throughout the course of the game players will be able to visit such locations as the Batcave and the Hall of Justice.
Another Lego game. Even though I adore the series, it’s another Lego game. And just where is my Lego Deadpool already?
Lego Batman 3: Beyond Gotham will arrive this spring on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Wii U, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, 3DS, Vita, and PC.
