Mortal Kombat X Officially Announced By Ed Boon, First Trailer Released

After several weeks of teasing Ed Boon has officially announced the existence of Mortal Kombat X. A few hours after the announcement, which was made via Twitter, a trailer was released showing Scorpion and Sub-Zero beating the snot out of each other. While the music is frankly terrible, the trailer itself managed to look like a beautiful blend of cinematics and actual gameplay.

Naturally at this point very little is known about the game, but apparently it will feature several variations of each character that changes the way they play. It will be making its fist public appearence at E3, and is due to arrive in 2015 for Xbox One, Xbox 360, PC, PS3 and PS4.

Mortal Kombat has always been about over-the-top, visceral fighting and with  Mortal Kombat X  we wanted to utilise the power of new-gen consoles to give players our most intense game yet,” said Ed Boon, Creative Director, NetherRealm Studios.  “The team has worked hard to make sure  Mortal Kombat X  delivers everything fans expect along with new characters, new game modes and an all new graphics engine.”

Considering how much I adored the previous game, and how much love I have for the series in general, I’m fairly excited right now.
