Having threatened to do so last December Lindsay Lohan is now officially suing Rockstar for using what she claims is her likeness in Grand Theft Auto V.
The character of Lacey Jonas appears in a single mission. She’s portrayed as a stereotypical prima-donna, or bitch if you prefer. As the player its your job to help get her to her hotel while avoiding the pesky paparazzi. Along the way Lacey chats about how she thinks she is fat, how she paid millions of dollars to lose her accent, cutting ties with her family because their lame lives were bringing her down spirtually and much more.
Lindsay Lohan is claiming the the character of Lacey Jonas is an is an “unequivocal” reference to her. The lawsuit claims that Lohan’s image, voice and styles from her clothing line were all used to create the fictional character. Bafflingly the lawsuit is also claiming that the mere existence of West Hollywood’s Chateau Marmont hotel is also a reference to Lohan, despite the fact that in the Lacey Jonas mission you don’t pick up or drop the character off there.
While Lohan probably was used at some point as reference for creating the character, Lacey Jonas is clearly an amalgamation of many stars, a parody of the stereotype. Given that shows like South Park constantly parody many people why Lohan would choose to tackle Rockstar is baffling, except merely to attract attention.
