Assassin’s Creed: Unity Trailer Shows Of RPG Elements That Make Me Happy

Ubisoft have released a new trailer for the forthcoming Assassin’s Creed: Unity, a game which was already looking mighty good.

It has just gotten even better, however.

The new trailer focuses on RPG-style elements, such as the inclusion of skill trees and a relatively substantial looking customisation/loot system that let’s you equip various types of armor and weapons. Go for the heavy armor and you’ll be slower, but obviously able to soak up the blows.

Active skills were also shown off, such as being able to create a supply cache or heal your entire group, both of which naturally have a strong emphasis on co-op play.

Unity is looking set to make some substantial upgrades to a series that is sorely in need of them. AC: Black Flag was a brilliant game, but the technological limitations were clear, as and inherent weaknesses in the design of the game’s mechanics were clearer than ever. Unity is a huge overhaul, it seems. Count me in.
