Having been teased for some time now Tony Hawks’ Pro Skater 5 has been officially revealed via Game Informer who are promising a 6-page feature in their new issue.

The game is due to arrive this year on  PlayStation 4 and Xbox One later in the year, with PS3 and Xbox 360 versions coming shortly after. The bad news is that it is being developed by Robomodo, the very same company who developed Tony Hawk’s Ride and Tony Hawk’s Shred, both of which were critically and commercially panned.

The game is promising new levels with new objectives that you can complete on your own or with a friend thanks to seamless multiplayer integration. The screenshots also show several classic levels, too, including the school. You can share your created skate parks with the world as well.

The roster contains a variety of older names, including Hawk himself, and so new skaters. Game Informer lists as least  Nyjah Huston, Aaron Homoki, Ishod Wair, Riley Hawk, Lizzie Armanto, Chris Cole, David Gonzalez, Leticia Bufoni, and Andrew Reynolds.

New additions to the traditional Pro Skater formula include power-ups and special projectiles that can be used during certain missions.

In admit to having mixed feelings about this. On the one hand the Pro Skater series is one I cherish. It’s responsible for numerous happy memories of mine. And yet Robomodo do not inspire much confidence. Neither does the idea of power-ups and projectiles, but here’s hoping for something great.
