It seems Microsoft may be intending on releasing a small update to their Xbox One controller in the form of a 3.5mm jack, allowing for a far greater range of headsets to be plugged in and used.
The rumour stems from Microsoft’s very own Xbox Support Website which posted up a new diagram mentioning the jack, before said diagram and all mentions of it were removed. The diagram mentions that the 3.5mm port will only be available on controllers released after June of this year, potentially indicated an E3 announcement. No other changes were mentioned, which is a shame because a lot of people have been crying out for the ability to charge the controller directly via USB rather than needing a Play ‘n’ Charge kit, which naturally means having to shell out even more cash.
