Bethesda Tease Fallout 4 Announcement

It’s finally happening. Rumours of the existence of Fallout 4 have been swirling for a long time now, with numerous leaks and even hoaxes created by dedicated fans fueling the flames. Previous leaks suggested that the game would take place in the Boston area with a fully voiced main character. Meanwhile Bethesda themselves have been mentioning a new Fallout game for years. Everybody knew a sequel was coming because of how successful Fallout 3, but it was just a question of when…

The time would appear to be now. Earlier today Bethesda revealed the image you see at the top of the screen, and a countdown began at fallout.bethesda.com. The image is quite clearly Fallout, but the website name absolutely confirms it. Furthermore some clever buggers have determined that the websites code hides a reference to Fallout 3 character Masterbrain:

“PA system failure has occured,” the website code reads. “Shutdown of the Masterbrain has been authorised and all sensitive materials have been removed for security purposes. Please attempt re-access. Have a pleasant day.”

Whether this is an indication that Masterbrain will play a part in Fallout 4 or its just a neat easter egg is hard to tell.

The website is counting down to 3pm tomorrow, June 3rd, at which point we can probably expect a very, very tiny look at the game before a proper reveal at Bethesda’s first ever E3 conference.

It’s happening, people.
