In some rather surprising news it seems that Warner Bros. have cancelled the £170 Batmobile Edition of Batman: Arkham Knight, which is due out just next week.
The rather expensive edition of the game was, as the name sort of implies, going to come with a replicate Batmobile statue, but according to a user on NeoGaf the product has been cancelled at the last minute.
“Regrettably, due to unforeseen circumstances that greatly compromised the quality of the Batmobile, included within the Batman Arkham Knight Batmobile Edition, Warner Bros has decided not to release this product,” GAME stated in an Email to the NeoGaf user. Since then other people have come forward to confirm that they’ve had similiar Emails from both GAME and other retailers that were selling the Batmobile Edition.
Naturally everybody that pre-ordered are getting their money back. Meanwhile GAME are offering a £20 discount on their exclusive Red Edition, bringing the price down to £29.99. Still, that means missing out on not only the Batmobile, but also an art-book, steelbook case, limited edition comic and some bonus skins. All of these are available in the £89.99 Limited Edition version of the game, but that appears to be sold out everywhere.
IN short, fans have been screwed over, and it’s frankly insulting that Warner Bros. seemingly only discovered this serious quality flaw a week before the game’s launch. Presumably the Batmobile lost a wheel, and the Joker got away. *cough*
