Microsoft Reveal Xbox One List Of 104 Backwards Compatible Xbox 360 Games

Xbox One will be getting an update on November 12th that enables backwards compatibility with certain Xbox 360 games, an enticing prospect for those of us with extensive libraries of games. In anticipation Microsoft have released the list of games that will be compatible at the update’s launch, although more will be added in the future.

There are some notable absences, such as the lack of any Call of Duty game, no Skyrim, no Red Dead Redemption and only the first Mass Effect game. You can also play Borderlands but not its sequel, and Fable II but not Fable III. The Assassin’s Creed series only gets the backwards compatibility treatment with its second game, meaning there’s another six Xbox 360 AC games that are left unplayable.

Halo Reach, Halo Wars, Call of Duty: Black Ops, Bioshock, Bioshock 2, Bioshock Infinite and Skate 3 will all be added soon, according to Microsoft, and Burnout Paradise will also be coming at some point. Furthermore more all Games with Gold titles from now on will be backwards compatible, too.
