It seems that following the horrible launch of Batman: Arkham Knight on PC publisher Warner Bros. are now fully intent on kicking themselves in the nuts while they’re down, which is an impressive feat when you stop and think about it.
The PC version of Mortal Kombat X didn’t have a completely smooth launch, but now it seems Warner Bros. intend on abandoning all support for the game. Yesterday the company announced two things; Mortal Kombat XL, a re-release of the game featuring all released DLC so far, and Kombat Pack 2. The announcements mentioned Xbox One and PS4, but strangely didn’t say anything about PC.
Suspicious already, fans had their worst fears confirmed on the TestYourMight forum where NetherRealm community manager Tyler Lansdown stated, “Mortal Kombat XL and Kombat Pack 2 will available on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One only.”
Needless to say fans were not happy. Many performance issues still remain in Mortal Kombat X, which hasn’t gotten an update since September of last year. At the very least PC players expected the same DLC as their console bretheren, and yet even this is going to be ripped from them.
It’s amazing, really. With Mad Max last year Warner Bros. proved they could publish a game to PC that worked beautifully, but with Arkham Knight and now this fiasco they’ve lost massive respect and trust.
So typical!
Sad… Mortal Kombat X is so wicked btw!!!
