Rockstar has confirmed that GTA 6 will launch on 2025 on Xbox Series S/X and PS5, confirming in the process that the next entry in their iconic series will not squeezed onto last-gen hardware.

Sadly, however, there was no mention of a PC version. This is fairly typical of Rockstar as its PC support has been inconsistent at best. It took a year for Red Dead Redemption 2 to come to PC, and 2 years for GTA V to make the leap. And despite Red Dead Redemption’s recent re-release bringing it to Switch, it’s still not available natively on PC. Hopefully, PC players won’t have to wait too long.

GTA 6’s debut trailer ended up being released early following a massive leak which saw it spread across the Internet. The trailer confirmed that GTA 6 will return to Vice City, the series’ take on Miami. In it we get to see our two lead characters, Lucia and Jason, leading a life of crime in a city where it seems everyone is happy to show everything on social media.

Understandably, Rockstar employees weren’t happy with the trailer leaking early as it ruined a huge moment they had been working toward. “This fucking sucks,” wrote Senior gameplay animator Javier Altman on X. “I was hoping to watch this for the first time tomorrow along with my fellow teammates and coworkers. I feel we deserved that moment.”

An hour later, though, he also wrote that: “Literally crying tears of joy right now at the response everyone is having. I can’t believe I get to be a part of this.”

As I write this the GTA 6 trailer has already been watched a staggering 62.5 million times.
