The huge success of the Fallout TV show has sparked a resurgence of popularity in the videogames on which it based, and of them it seems to be Fallout 76 that’s getting the biggest rub.

Released in 2018, Fallout 76 was a controversial live-service take on the franchise that launched in a less-than-stellar state. Since then, though, and to Bethesda’s credit, the game has continued to be supported has maintained a small but dedicated playerbase.

But the show has brought in heaps of new players. So many, in fact, that the official Fallout account on X has announced that over one million people logged into Fallout 76 in 24 hours.

Jonathan Rush, the creative director of Fallout 76, took to X and wrote: “It’s amazing to see the large influx of new Appalachian Adventurers, and how our awesome community has welcomed them!”

The Fallout account also shared that Fallout series as a whole drew in 5 million people in 24-hours.

It’s amazing how much the TV show has helped boost the franchise’s popularity, including making Fallout 4 the highest selling game in Europe last week. Fallout 4 is also getting a next-gen upgrade tomorrow that will include native versions of the game for PS5 and Xbox Series S/X, boosting the graphics and performance.

As for the TV show, a second season has already been confirmed.
