Bloodborne fans rejoice, for the legendary game lives on! Unfortunately, not in the way you were probably hoping. Get ready for a crazy sentence: Sony is making a Bloodborne animated film with help from Youtuber Jacksepticeye.

The anouncement was made at Cinemacon where it was revealed the animated film will be R-rated and “”very true” to the game. It will be co-produced by PlayStation Productions and Lyrical Animation.

As for Jacksepticeye, he has over 31 million subscribers on Youtube and has frequently called Bloodborne his favourite game of all time. He will apparently serve as a producer on the movie. Over the years, Jacksepticeye has become involved in a few movie and TV projects.

It’s unclear exactly what type of producer Jacksepticeye is going to be: it may be an honory title, it could be executive producer. Or it could be a straight-up proper producer, in which case he’s going to play a big part in getting the movie made.

“I am producing this project and you have no idea how incredibly excited I am to finally be able to talk about it!!” said Jacksepticeye on the Bloodborne subreddit. “I am going to do everything in my power to make this the BEST Bloodborne adaptation possible. Not only is it my favourite game ever made but I know how truly passionate the fans of this game are and how much hunger they have for more of it.”

As for the movie itself, we know almost nothing about it. Based on what little has said, it looks set to probably follow the plot of the game rather than expanding on the universe, but who knows?

It’s crazy to think we’ve ended up with an animated movie before a 60FPS update, remake or remaster, though.
