Go find Watto to acquire whatever parts you need for your Podracer, folks, because we have an official release date for Star Wars: Galactic Racer.
Following a leak earlier this week, the game’s social media team made the official announcement: October 6 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series S/X and PC.
So far, the game looks pretty cool and gives off plenty of Star Wars: Podracer vibes, but let’s temper some expectations: the Star Wars brand is not in great shape, and developer Fuse is new on the scene, having been founded in 2023. That said, they do have a lot of veteran talent, including folk from Criterion.
The game will cost £49.99/$59.99 for the standard version.
The Deluxe Edition ($79.99/£64.99/€79.99) comes with three bonus vehicles – the Kor Sarun: Darc X landspeeder, Kor Sarun: Ciza T speeder bike, and Kor Sarun: Rak S skim speeder – and three deluxe Arcade events, the Deluxe Livery Pack, Deluxe Player Banner Pack, and a Digital Art Book.
Finally, if you fancy going bankrupt and have room on your shelf, a $159.99/£139.99/€159.99 physical Collector’s Edition is available for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. It comes with a physical model of the Kor Sarun: Darc X landspeeder, a physical banner, two pilot patches, a physical copy of the Digital Art Book, and a custom slip cover and steel case.
